IT"S A LONG WAY FROM THE CARIBBEAN

Date: 01-June-2012
From: News Center Publications
Subject: June Caribbean Memo-2012

Dear Friends,

Yes, it’s true.

The Caribbean is a terribly long-way from what happened on June 6, 1944. On that date, three million America, British and Canadian soldiers landed on the north coast of France to start the end of German-controlled Europe during World War II.

We decided to write about it anyway despite the geographical difference for a simple reason. If what was launched on “D-Day” had failed, this area of the world today would be dramatically different.

In other words, this is one small way of celebrating that historic moment in the name of all of us living in the Caribbean.

The Allied invasion of Normandy on France’s north coast was the first major step taken to end World War II less than two years later on Sept. 2, 1945. On that date, Hitler’s Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan officially surrendered.

We write about this subject because of our interest in Latin America and the Caribbean. Five novels have been written about Chile, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama and Puerto Rico.

And a sixth one about Islam, called ‘AL-MAGHRED, The Barbary Lion,’ is finished and will be available shortly.

All five novels can be found quickly. Click News Center Publications after reaching the Web address ‘www.natcarnes.com.’ Once there click: Amazon.com.

This Caribbean Memo and a Memo collection can also be found on the same site by clicking Caribbean Memo.

With each purchase, let us know and we'll send free of charge an e-book version. They can be read on any hand-held device with e-mail capability.

Remember, we are interested in your comments, pro and con. In other words, that's how we learn.

And please let us know if you want your name taken off the Caribbean Memo list.
